和名字相比．中国人更看重姓。名字不合心意可以改,姓一般不轻易更改。但在古代．改姓的现象却也并不少见．最常见的便是帝王的赐姓。封建帝王的权力至高无上．因一时之高兴就改变别人的姓氏以示恩宠与嘉奖。据传最早赐姓的帝王是舜,说那时有一个叫董父的人很喜欢养龙,龙也喜欢接近他．舜就给他赐姓为豢龙氏。又说夏朝时也有一个养龙本领很高超的刘累,帝孔甲也给他赐姓为御龙氏。这是帝王赐姓的最早传说,以后的历代帝王纷纷仿效,几乎都有这赐姓的嗜好。赐姓大致有三种:赐国姓、赐他姓、赐恶姓。帝王在所赐之姓中体现着自己的爱憎与好恶。
