神农架国家级自然保护区位于湖北西部长江三峡北岸,境内丰富多彩的生物资源、古老独特的自然景观、复杂多样的气候特征、葱郁秀丽的原始森林和奇异动物的神秘传说,使其成为华中地区一颗璀璨明珠、理想的生态旅游胜地。 神农架自然保护区成立于1983年,1986年经国务院批准为国家级森林和野生动物类型自然保护区,1990年加入联合国教科文组织“人与生物圈”保护区网,1994年获准对外国人开放。保护区总面积为7.05公顷,区内山岭连绵、沟壑纵横,最高峰神农顶海拔3105.4米,素称“华中屋脊”;最低河谷石柱河海拔398米,相对高差达2707.4米。奇形的地理地貌、优越的气候条件造就了这里复杂多样的生态系统,是世界上少有的“绿色
Shennongjia National Nature Reserve is located in the north bank of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River in the western part of Hubei Province. Its rich and colorful biological resources, ancient and unique natural landscape, complex and diverse climatic characteristics, mysterious lush forests and exotic animals make Shennongjia a Central China A shining pearl, the ideal eco-tourism destination.
