中国大陆改革开放对台湾海峡两岸关系产生了深刻影响，“一国两制、和平统一”的政策明确了两岸关系发展方向和途径。两岸经贸关系迅速发展，诸多领域实现了双向直接交流，国民党及其僵硬的大陆政策产生了一定变化。
The reform and opening up in mainland China has had a profound impact on the relations across the Taiwan Strait. The policy of “one country, two systems and peaceful reunification” has clearly defined the direction and ways for the development of cross-Strait relations. The rapid development of cross-Strait economic and trade relations, the realization of two-way direct exchanges in various fields and the emergence of certain changes have taken place in the Kuomintang and its rigid mainland policies.
