榖子白发病在山西是当前严重的病害。根据该省农业病虫防治总站一九五○年的调查,在太原郊区、太谷、榆次、长治及忻县等二十四县不完全统计,被害面积有一二六万亩,减产率达11%,太谷、长治部份地区为害率达13%,而太谷个别的农家严重的竟达40%以上。全省一一八○万亩榖田的减产损失至少在一亿斤,是相当惊人的。自本所病害研究室创议用拔除白尖法防治榖子白发病后,本年夏季已有不少地方试行。山西
