芬兰的基础教育也和其他国家一样,实行九年制义务普及教育,所不同的是外国学生的母语教育在其义务教育中也占有一席之地。居住在芬兰的外国适学儿童在接受正规教育的同时,又有一个轻松自如的母语小环境,以此来保持并增强其使用母语的能力。在芬兰8个城市有为中国孩子开设的汉语教学点,每周免费享受两学时的母语教学,共有学生150名,汉语教师8名。
Similar to other countries, basic education in Finland applies universal nine-year compulsory education as well. The difference is that foreign-language mother-tongue education also has a place in compulsory education. Foreign-based children living in Finland, while educated formally, have a relaxed native language environment in order to maintain and enhance their ability to use their mother tongue. There are eight Chinese teaching sites for Chinese children in eight cities in Finland. Two teaching hours per day are provided free of charge for mother tongue teaching. There are 150 students and 8 Chinese teachers.
