常看戏曲的人,有时会碰上一种恼人的景象,人们称之日“伴奏压唱”。从乐池传来的过量的音响把演员的唱词和念白全淹没了。特别是那些交待重要情节或富有诗情画意的戏剧语言,无法送进观众的耳朵,实在令人惋惜。遇上了这种“干扰”,观众恨不得跑上台侧去祈求那些伴奏者,请他们高抬贵手,减弱音量。其所以会有压唱现象,我以为重要原因之一是,某些器乐演奏员没有理解“伴奏”两个字的涵义。我决没有轻视伴奏乐队的意思,相反,我很了解乐队在戏曲这门综合艺术中的重要地位。也正因为如此,才强烈地感到,应该让某些演奏员懂得,伴奏的职责是伴,而不是压。如果不照顾前台演员的演唱效果与观众的欣赏需要,
