据Kulkarni RN[Diabetes,2012,61(9):2205-2213.]
According to Kulkarni RN [Diabetes, 2012, 61 (9): 2205-2213.], Joslin researchers have identified the types of immune cells that promote β-cell growth in patients with type 1 diabetes. This study provides further evidence that immune cell function has been altered in type 1 diabetic pathology. In type 1 diabetic patients, the immune system infiltrates islet cells, destroying insulin-producing beta cells. However, previous studies have shown that immune cells can also retain beta cells in non-obese diabetic (NOD) mice. The traditional view is that type 1 diabetes’s immune cells kill all beta cells and patients will have to take insulin for life.
