南京军区儿科研究所是在南京军区福州总医院儿科基础上发展起来的.1991年成立南京军区儿科专科中心,1997年10月成立南京军区儿科研究所.其间,于1991年9月被总后勤部批准为第一军医大学联合培养研究生儿科学专业点,1993年10月被国家卫生部、联合国儿童基金会和世界卫生组织批准为全军首批爱婴医院.1998年通过全军优生优育中心检查,被批准为全军计划生育优生优育技术中心.
