在循化撒拉族历史上,于清乾隆四十六年(1781年),曾发生过苏四十三事件。最近在整理地方志和民族史料过程中,有的同志把这一事件完全写成撒拉族人民反清斗争史,这是与史实不完全相符的。现将我们的一些浅见提供于下,供整理、研究地方志和民族史的同志们参考。 据《循化志》和《河州志》的记载,苏四十三事件的起因是新、老教教派之争。 In the history of Xunhua Salar, in the forty-sixth year of the Qing Emperor Qianlong (1781), the incident of forty-three took place. Recently, during the process of sorting out local chronicles and ethnic historical materials, some comrades completely wrote this incident into the history of the anti-Qing struggle by the Salar people, which is not in accordance with historical facts. Now some of our humble opinions are provided for the reference of those who collate and study the local history and national history. According to the records of Xunhua and Hezhou, the cause of the Su-43 incident is the dispute between the new and the old religions.
