甜菜新品种吉甜302以多粒雄性不育系为母本，以四倍作品系为父本，采取3：1配比杂交育成。该品种经1990－1992年省内品种区域试验，1992－1993年生产示范，该品种表现适应性广，抗病力强，块根产量，产糖量高等优点．区域试验结果：块根产量比“范育一号”对照品种增产22．4％，含糖低0．2度，产糖量比“范育一号”提高19．8％．属于丰产型雄不育多倍体甜菜杂交品种．1994年由吉林省农作物品种审定委员会审定命名．1995年通过了轻工总会甜菜糖业研究所品种审定委员会的审定，命名为中甜一吉甜302．
