人类依附地球生存,地球因为有了人类而更加丰富。近年来,气候变暖、空气质量恶化、土壤污染、自然资源开采过度等状况的出现,给人类的生活与自然环境造成了损害与威胁。世界地球日(World Earth Day),是一项世界性的环境保护活动。1970年4月22日,在美国的盖洛德·尼尔森和丹尼斯·海斯的倡议和组织下,美国数十万群众参与了“地球日”这个重要的活动,呼吁创造一个清洁、简单、和平的生活环境。在1990年4月22日,全世界140多个国家,超过2亿人参与了“地球日”的活动。从1990年开始,我国每年都进行“地球日”的纪念宣传活动。
