小时候流传着这样一首歌谣:“小耗子,上灯台;偷油吃,下不来。吱、吱、吱、吱,叫奶奶……”虽然从没有见过真正的油灯,但小油灯在我的脑海里却留下了既模糊又深刻的印象。从我收藏第一盏油灯算起,至今已经不止十年了。这期间,凭着一种对小油灯的偏爱而激发出的执着精神,我往来于北京的每一个文物旧货市场,在常人都认为是破烂的旧货堆里,寻找出一件件难得的古代灯具。它们不断地丰富着我的收藏。现在,我拥有造型各异,多种材、质的历代灯具近六百盏,它们摆放在展厅内长长的展柜上,千姿百态,仿佛就是一部古代灯具的
