川崎公司把低利用系数作为出铁体制,在水岛、千叶两厂的5座生产高炉中,特别是千叶厂5号高炉(2584m~3),在大幅度减产下维持目前的超低利用系数(约1.2t/m~3·d)操作,主要是避免高炉的停炉,同时确立低利用系数的稳定操作技术。一般的高炉操作,利用系数稳定在1.8~2.0之间是理想的,即使低,下限也在1.6左右。但千叶厂5号高炉的利用系数从1998年秋以来直降到1.2左右。
