本专利的内容是关于采用縱向螺旋轧制法来軋制钻头、铰刀、絲锥等刀具的方法。众所周知,用圆形棒料轧制这类刀具的方法和装置是很多的,但是迄今为止,尚未能获得令人滿意的結果。为了创造一种较好的加工方法,本专利建议将棒料加热到热变形温度(鍛造温度),然后从加热处直接移置于軋辊上,在一道工序上用一组(或几组)轉动的軋辊軋制,不須更换工序而直接精轧出所需截形的刀具来。这种方法的优点首先在于:上述刀具可以在一道工序上一次加热軋制出来,軋出的刀具几乎沒有飞边。与一般軋制方法比較,它有了非常巨大的改进。还必須指出:即使軋制变形量很大,采用一組轧辊也可满足。与此有关的軋制装置结构将在下面简图中加以說明。
