服装的功能之一是达到穿着者的舒适要求。舒适是一个多种性能复杂结合的概念,是主观因素与客观因素的统一。人们对于舒适的理解千差万别。在生理卫生学方面用来评价环境舒适的条件有光线、声音、气味、温度,风速,墙壁、家具和服装等。在某些特殊环境中,如航空、航海和航天活动中的舒适条件还与气压、超重、失重、缺氧、震动等因素有关。服装的舒适性也是一个综合值,即服用性能与美学性能在服装上得到充分体现,个体效果与社会效果得以实现,穿着者即会感到“舒适”。服装材料是构成服装的基体,是服装功能的基本体现者,研究服装的舒适性首先应了解服装材料所具有的舒适性能。
