This paper reports the preparation and purification of antibodies against the Hb Wayne and the beta-globin frame-coding mutant Hb Cranston of the alpha-globin frameshift mutant. These antibodies have non-precipitating properties and they can strongly fluoresce red blood cells that contain Hb Wayne or Hb Cranston. The study was carried out with an artificial mixture containing either of the two mutant forms of Hb at a frequency of between one and two and one to one third of the mutation frequency indicating that at a significant excess of normal red blood cells
