国务院于1993年9月22日进行了中国2000年消除碘缺乏病(英文缩写IDD)的总动员,国务院总理李鹏给动员会写来贺信指出“到2000年消除碘缺乏病,是提高人口素质,促进社会经济发展的需要.希望国务院各有关部门和各级政府继续加强领导,各负其责,在国际组织协助下,为落实《中国2000年消除碘缺乏病规划纲要》共同努力.”党和国家领导人都十分关心智力工程,称之为是一项“功德无量的事业”.
The State Department conducted a general mobilization on China’s elimination of iodine deficiency deficiency (IDD) in 2000 on September 22, 1993.
