The study of the effect of the third compunent on the catalytic prop-erties of Cu-Co catalysts for the selective synthesis of alcohols from CO andH_2 showed that addition of the third component influenced the reductivn proper-ty of Co which in turn would influence the activity and selectivity of catalystsfor alcohols synthesis.
