荠菜,俗称白花菜,棕子草。属十字花科杂草在我市普遍发生,尤以水肥条件较好的麦田,数量更多。一、生物学特性荠菜在春、夏、秋季皆可出土,其中以秋季最多。据1985年11月8日在遵化县调查:越冬前的荠菜,平均株高约0.5厘米,单株能见绿叶7—9片,一般叶长为3.0厘米,平均根长7—9厘米,百株鲜重48.2克。翌春3月下旬至4月上旬抽茎开花结果,无限花序,一般茎高30厘米,花瓣4个,白色,故称白花菜。果实呈倒三角形,形似粽子,故又称粽子草。每一果实有种子20多粒,一般单株产籽2000—4000
