巴西矿业巨擘淡水河谷的首席执行官费雷拉日前表示,预计2011年第三季提供给客户的铁矿石价格将保持稳定,持平于第二季。根据淡水河谷2010年采用的季度定价系统,每个季度的铁矿石定价是基于之前3个月的现货市场均价。费雷拉表示,中国的信贷紧缩举措不太可能减缓其经济增速。中国是淡水河谷最大的客户,也是全球最大的铁矿石消费国。他不认为中国增长将放慢,更倾向于认为这是经济周期波动,他预计中国将迎来第二轮强劲增长周期。
Ferreira, chief executive of Brazil’s mining giant Vale, said on Wednesday that iron ore prices expected to be provided to customers in the third quarter of 2011 will remain stable, unchanged from the second quarter. According to the quarterly pricing system adopted by Vale in 2010, each quarter’s iron ore pricing is based on the average spot market price for the previous three months. Ferreira said China’s credit crunch is unlikely to slow its economic growth. China is Vale’s largest customer and the largest consumer of iron ore in the world. He does not think China’s growth will slow down, preferring to think it is a cyclical economic cycle, and he predicts that China will usher in the second round of strong growth cycle.
