前庭器官抵达大脑皮质的径路迄今不甚清楚,虽然前庭脑干诱发电位已记录成功,但还不能应用于临床。近半个世纪的研究初步证明人类前庭器官的皮质代表区在顶叶的6和2区及颞叶的22区附近。其传入途径为内侧纵束和小脑抵达丘脑的后外腹核。也可通过听觉传入通路的内侧膝状体向皮质投射。同时发现前庭皮质投射区与本体感觉投射区互相重叠。
