糯玉米和优质蛋白玉米都是优质食品和优质饲料来源。由于其优良的营养价值和食用价值,大部分糯玉米在亚洲地区被作为食物消费,优质蛋白玉米则主要作为饲料。但是,当前糯玉米和优质蛋白玉米的遗传育种因其狭窄的遗传种质基础而发展缓慢。为创造一种兼具糯玉米和优质蛋白玉米优良特性的玉米类型,并探索一条能同时拓宽糯玉米、优质蛋白玉米种质遗传基础的途径,以满足糯玉米、优质蛋白玉米育种和生产需要,通过以2个优质蛋白玉米自交系与4个糯玉米自交系杂交获得的4个杂交组合为基础材料,利用传统育种技术辅以SSR分子标记辅助选择技术,选育了18个优质蛋白糯玉米自交系,这些自交系大部分在氨基酸总含量、赖氨酸含量上都高于血缘亲本,并具有优良的抗病性、胚乳硬度和农艺性状。

However, the genetic breeding of current waxy maize and high-quality protein maize has progressed slowly due to its narrow genetic germplasm base. In order to create a kind of maize with excellent characteristics of both waxy corn and high quality protein corn and to explore a way to broaden the genetic basis of waxy corn and high quality protein maize germplasm to meet the needs of breeding and production of waxy corn and high quality protein maize, Four high-quality protein maize inbred lines and four waxy maize inbred lines obtained from four cross combinations as the basic material, using traditional breeding techniques combined with SSR molecular marker-assisted selection technology, breeding of 18 high-quality protein waxy Maize inbred lines, most of these inbred lines in the total amino acid content, lysine content are higher than the blood relatives, and has excellent resistance, endosperm hardness and agronomic traits.
