高密聂家庄泥塑至今约有400年历史了,明朝隆庆、万历年问,当地农民自制一种俗称“泥墩子”的焰火,装火药的泥坯塑成各种造型,焰火放后就成为小孩子们喜爱的玩具或小摆设,随着各种泥塑造型逐渐增多,颜色明快艳丽,很受百姓喜爱,渐渐发展成为一种独立的手工艺术品。自上世纪70年代未被高密文化馆焦岩峰等人发掘和保护以来,聂家庄泥塑一直受到社会各界的关注,2007年被正式公布列入山东省首批非物质文化遗产保护名录。
