I. Anti-Japanese War Before the failure of the Great Revolution in 1927, the Sixth National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held in Moscow from June 18 to July 11, 1928, with the help of the Communist International. Before and after the Sixth Congress, the Party led the broad masses of the people and held armed uprisings throughout the country. The Chinese Communists represented by Mao Zedong established the rural revolutionary base areas and opened up a revolutionary countryside surrounded by counter-revolutionary forces
