ATLANTA: The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice (ACIP) at the Atlanta Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had proposed that young children should be included in their recommendations for pneumococcal vaccination. The CDC notes that vaccination is the most effective way to avoid invasive pneumococcal disease in infants and toddlers.
