From the 15th to the 16th centuries, the Inca Empire was the largest country in South America with its territory spanning today’s Colombia, Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador, Argentina and Peru. These areas are linked together by a vast system of roads that can be as inhospitable as any ancient road system on the continent. The Inca empire boasts a wealth of foodstuffs, plenty of textiles, gold and cocoa, and on this basis it built a remarkable city
