第一次见到刘公诚先生是在1963年国庆节前夕,当时他是我院水泥物化室主任,接见了我们七名刚分到该室工作的大学生。只见他身材修长,戴一副金丝边眼镜,显得十分精神。他面带微笑,代表室领导热烈欢迎我们,希望我们虚心向老同志学习,搞好团结,还希望我们围绕科研工作,不断学习专业知识,提高外语水平。接着他为我们提供了一些参考书目。
The first time I met Mr. Liu Gongcheng on the eve of National Day 1963, when he was director of the project of cement materialization in our hospital and met with seven of our students who had just been assigned to work in the room. I saw him slender, wearing a pair of gold rimmed glasses, looked very energetic. With a smile on his face, the leadership of the representative office warmly welcomed us and hoped that we would study humbly from the old comrades and improve our solidarity. We also hoped that we would continue to study professional knowledge and raise the level of foreign languages around our research work. Then he provided us with some bibliography.
