内蒙古大兴安岭林区有森林资源约9亿立方米,占全国森林蓄积量的六分之一强,因此,开发与利用这个林区的森林资源,对发展我国经济建设事业具有重要的意义。但目前大兴安岭森林资源的开发作用是不能令人满意的,一方面森工规模太小,采伐速度缓慢,与成过熟林蓄积量过大不相适应;另一方面,由于运材设备少,采伐过度集中,形成局部地区的过伐现象。说明目前大兴安岭森林资源的开发利用远不能适应社会主义建设和森林
