An important task in the study of drug metabolism is to determine the structure of the isolated metabolites, which is a more complicated process (Figure 1). Isolated, purified metabolites, can be identified by TLC, IR, UV, MS, NMR and other physical and chemical means to identify. For very small amounts of metabolites, mass spectrometry is an important technique that provides the molecular weight of the metabolites, the elemental composition and the lysis pathways for further structural information. However, once a sufficient amount of compound has been isolated, detailed structural information can be obtained from nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) because NMR
