嘉兴市素有“鱼米之乡”之称,是我省主要商品粮基地,但人均耕地较少。从1949年到1984年,36年全市人口增加127.21万,耕地减少41.59万亩,平均每年减少1.16万亩。而1984、1985年两年减少7.98万亩,平均每年4万亩。其中除了国家征用、公路修建、民用住房用地外,主要是近年砖瓦厂的兴起是一个重要因素。象嘉善县干窑乡是嘉兴历史上最老的砖瓦生产基地,由于连年取土制坯,圩岸、河堤受到影响,田面高程降低,目前已到了无土可取。
Jiaxing City, known as “Yumizhixiang” said, is the main commodity grain base in our province, but per capita arable land less. From 1949 to 1984, the population of the city increased by 1,272,100 in 36 years, with a reduction of 41,590 mu of cultivated land and an average decrease of 11,600 mu per year. In 1984 and 1985, the two-year reduction of 79,800 mu, an average of 40,000 mu per year.
