中国科学院于10月14日起召开了所长会议,会议分为数学物理科学、化学科学、生物科学与地质地理科学、技术科学、社会科学等5组先后分别举行。这次会议根据国家过渡时期总路线,初步确定了各部门今后数年内的工作方向和1954年度研究工作重点。中国科学院张稼夫副院长在会上作了关于国家过渡时期的总路线和总任务的传达报告,陶孟和、竺可桢、吴有训三位副院长分别作了各部门今后工作方向
The Chinese Academy of Sciences convened its director meeting on October 14, and the meeting was divided into 5 groups: Mathematical Physics Science, Chemical Science, Biological Sciences and Geology, Geography, Science and Social Science. According to the general plan for the transitional period of the country, the meeting tentatively identified the work direction of various departments in the next few years and the focus of 1954 research. Zhang Jiafu, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, made a report on the general line and general tasks for the transitional period of the country. Three vice presidents of Tao Menghe, Zhu Kezhen and Wu Youxun made directions for their work in the future
