8月17日至19日,第五届“东泰杯”女子世界杯在安徽芜湖举行。参加本次比赛的16名选手中,有5名选手是各洲际的冠军;欧洲冠军罗马尼亚的斯蒂夫、非洲冠军埃及的艾尔菲、拉丁美洲冠军智利的罗德里格兹、北美洲冠军美国的高军和大洋洲冠军新西兰的李春丽。由于李春丽临时缺阵,由正在中国打欧亚对抗赛的匈牙利选手托特顶替。中国的三名运动员各自以不同的身份参赛;李菊为上届世界杯冠军;王楠持国际乒联外卡;张怡宁则是根据世界排名入选。持外卡参赛的还有奥地利的刘佳和朝鲜的金英姬。另外的6名选手中国台北的陈静、克罗地亚的鲍罗斯、韩国的柳智惠、卢森堡的倪夏莲、新加坡的李佳微和井浚泓,都是根据世界排名入选的。
August 17 to 19, the fifth “Dongtai Cup” Women’s World Cup was held in Wuhu, Anhui. Of the 16 players who took part in the competition, five were Continental Champions; European Champion Steve Stevens of Romania, African El Safier of Egypt, Latin American Champion Rodriguez of Chile, North American Champion of the United States Gao Jun and Oceania champion Li Chunli of New Zealand. Due to the temporary absence of Li Chunli, Hungarian Toter, who is playing the Euro-Asian match in China, has been replaced. China’s three athletes each competed in different capacities; Li Ju was the former World Cup champion; Wang Nan took the ITTF foreign-caliber card; Zhang Yining was selected according to the world rankings. Wild cards are also participating in Austria’s Liu Jia and North Korea’s Kim Young-hee. The other six players, Chen Jing from Taipei, China, Boros from Croatia, Willie Liu from South Korea, Ni Xia Lian from Luxembourg, Li Jiawei from Singapore and Jing Junhong from Singapore are all selected according to the world rankings.
