「但是」「但」「可是」都表示后面的話的意思跟前面的相反。我們不必举正面的例子,因为多數人都把这几个词兒用得挺對。但是也有些人用错了;他們以為用上「但是」,可以表示後面的话的意思比前面的深进一层。如: 「劉巧兒」这齣戲存在着严重的缺點,但还不是某一场、某一段有缺點,而是客观的真实与今天宣传婚姻法的基本精神有了牴觸……(報紙) 很明显,这儿的「但」应该是「並且」或「而且」,因为后面的意思跟前面的並不相反,而是深進一層。又如:
