[Objective] To investigate the effects of traffic pollution on reproductive toxicity in male mice. [Methods] Thirty male Kunming mice were randomly divided into severe pollution exposure group, mild pollution exposure group and clean environmental blank control group, with 10 animals in each group. After continuous exposure for 35 days, the effects of traffic pollution on reproductive organs development, sperm quantity and quality, pathological changes of testis and epididymis and DNA damage in testis were observed. [Results] Compared with the blank control group, the body weight, testicular and epididymis weight, the testicular organ coefficient and the DNA damage rate in testes increased significantly in severely exposed group. Compared with the blank control group, the mild and severe exposure groups Mice sperm count decreased, sperm deformity rate increased, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Histopathological results showed that the testis and epididymis tissues of mice with mild and severe exposure had different degrees of damage. [Conclusion] Traffic pollution can cause some damage to the reproductive system of male mice.
