西方文学深受《圣经》影响,不但形成了历史悠久的《圣经》阐释系统,也影响到很多作家的创作实践。因此,我们往往可以在作家的作品中所展现的描写对象与特定的文化母题之间寻找到联系。作为第一位获得诺贝尔文学奖的黑人女作家,托妮·莫里森亦是从独特的女性视角出发去审视美国的圣经文化,采用十分巧妙的方式将其运用到自己的创作实践中,在丰富美国文学圣经文化传统的同时,也有效地拓展了托妮·莫里森的文化母题。
Influenced by the Bible, Western literature has not only formed a historical system of interpretation of the Bible, but also influenced the creative practices of many writers. Therefore, we can often find the connection between the object of description and the specific cultural motif in the writer’s work. As the first black woman writer who won the Nobel Prize in Literature, Toni Morrison also examined the Bible culture of the United States from a unique female perspective and applied it to her own creative practice in a very clever way. While enriching the Bible cultural traditions of American literature, Toni Morrison also effectively expanded the cultural motif.
