The bentonite sample from coal seams of Liufangzi Coal Mine,Jilin province, P.R.China has been used in order to prepare Al-pillared montmorillonite. It is indicated that Keggin-ion: [Al13O4(OH)24(H2O)12]7+ is successfully prepared with the OH/Al hydrolysis molar ratio of 2.4 in expement. Basal sparing(d001) of Alpillared montmorillonite is 1.921nm in normal condition and from 1.921nm to 18.16nm ther calcined at 500℃ for 2h.. The crystal framework of Al-pillared montmorillonite does not collapse at 500℃, which suggests that it can be used as catalysis carrier in many correlative scopes.
