文章主要通过对于中国古代城市建设之中的规划内容、城池本身与其周边山川、水系、人文景观建筑等的描写,可以看出好的城市建设不仅能方便人们的生产生活,其城市建设之美对于人们的思想与心境的陶冶也是非常重要的。通过古人对于城市之美、自然与城市的结合的一些典型范例,以及对比古今城市建设的特点和他们之间的内在联系,可以看出中国古代城市建设之美对于我们现代的城市建设影响的深远。
