Five new isomorphic quaternary rare-earth sulfides were synthesized using a new high-temperature solid-state reaction method. They crystallize in a hexagonal chiral space group P63 belonging to ALn3EQ7 (A: alkali metal or currency (Ln: rare earth element; E: Group IVA element; E: chalcogen) structure type with unit cell parameters of a = 9.621 (1) to 10.038 ) , V = 476.1 (1) ~ 494.9 (2) 3, Z = 2. Their crystal structure can be described as: LnS8 double cap triangular prism connected to each other into a three-dimensional framework structure, and A bit and E bit atom Respectively occupy the voids formed by the octahedron and tetrahedron.Studies on the optical and magnetic properties of the compound 4 show that it is a semiconductor with an optical band gap of 2.34 eV and shows a magnetic behavior similar to the antiferromagnetic interaction.
