山东省东临黄海、北濒渤海,海岸线长达3000多公里,占全国海岸线的1/6。这里优良港湾众多,发展航运事业具有得天独厚的条件。改革开放以来,山东港航事业在港口建设、航道整治、船舶更新、水运工业、结构调整等各方面都取得了令人瞩目的成就,港航综合经济实力大大增强。——港口建设速度快,布局结构趋向合理。沿海港口由五十年代初的5处发展到目前的24处,泊位由16个发展到104个,码头长度由624米发展到7133米。深水泊位从无到有,万吨级以上深水泊位43个,最大靠泊能力20万吨级。在加快港口码头建设的同时,港口配套投入也大大增加,拥有各种装卸机械508台,最
