地震是地壳快速释放能量过程中产生地震波的一种自然现象。但地震预测预报却是个世界性难题。哪怕是在大地震发生前的几分钟能准确预报,都对抗震减灾、减少生命财产损失具有重要意义。而今日本京都大学一个研究小组利用新方法有望能提前60~20分钟预测7级以上大地震,不过,其有效性还需通过检验。利用日本国土地理院的全球定位系统连续观测网络GEONET
