I. INTRODUCTION For most Doppler radars, its main task is to detect the moving target from a fixed target based on the inherent Doppler shift of the moving target. Doppler shift can be used to enhance the visibility of moving targets when compared to fixed targets. Moving target display radar (MTI) uses this Doppler shift to increase visibility compared to normal pulsed radars. The MTI improvement factor is a quality factor of the MTI system, which is a power ratio, defined as I = R_O / R_I, where R_O and R_I are the receiver output and input target averages for all target velocities Clutter power ratio. This definition applies to changes in the MTI system’s clutter attenuation and MTI system gain as a function of the target speed and is therefore a measure of the MTI system’s ability to improve the target / clutter ratio.
