“格法”一词,在古画论中经常提到。现代有人阐释“格法”的含义,多含糊其词。如杨大年先生所著《中国历代画论采英》,专辟了《论绘画的格法》一章,杨先生在该章“说明”中指出:“画论中的‘六法’、‘三病’和‘六要六长’诸篇,就是古代最主要的绘画格法。”我以为把“六法”“三病”和“六要六长”解释为格法未免太笼统了,这样宽泛多义的解释对于格法来说是不准确的。其实,根据我的研究分析,格法就是中国画讲究用笔,用墨和章法的格律
