在当前工会图书馆面临着某些主观与客观的问题,诸如其一,由于购书经费短缺、书刊大幅度涨价,使得书刊长期得不到补充,馆藏陈旧,拒绝率增高,借阅率下降,很少开展活动,图书馆对读者的吸引力逐渐减弱。相当一部分工会图书馆(室)名存实亡。其二,图书管理人员业务素质低,且一兼多职,调换频繁,加之其它因素,不安心工作。其三,随着精神文明、物质文明建设的深入,广大群众对文化的需求、读书的欲望日益高涨,就目前工会图书馆的状况,已经无法、无力来适应、满足这种需求。矛盾显得非常突出。
