Objective To detect the expression of heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) in peripheral blood of patients with traumatic shock and to explore its relationship with the occurrence and development of traumatic shock. Methods Western blot was used to determine the plasma levels of HSP70 in 36 patients with traumatic shock (observation group) and 30 normal controls (control group) respectively. Results The percentage of HS P70 in traumatic shock group was (4 301.3 ± 1 155.3), which was significantly higher than that in normal control group (6 092.3 ± 1 233.5) (P <0. 01). The HSP70 in 22 patients with shock was significantly higher than that at admission (6220.2 ± 1 291.6) compared with that on admission (4 273.6 ± 1 099.3) (P < 0.01). Conclusion The expression of HSP70 in patients with traumatic shock is obviously decreased, which may be an important factor in the development of post-traumatic shock and is closely related to the prognosis.
