In this study, radioimmunoassay was used to determine the levels of arginine vasopressin (AVP) in 63 newborn infants and their serum. The levels of AVP in cord blood and venous blood of asphyxiated children were significantly higher than those in healthy children, suggesting that neonatal asphyxia Plays an important role in stimulating the mechanism of AVP release in newborns and found that intrauterine hypoxia is a potential contributor to the release of AVP. The level of AVP in umbilical cord blood can reflect the content of AVP in newborns at early stage. Therefore, the determination of AVP in umbilical cord blood has an important reference value for the estimation of high risk status in children and early treatment.
