To investigate the effects of μ-opioid receptor agonist Ohmefentanyl OMF and delta opioid receptor agonist D-Ser-2-Leu-Enkephalin-Thr (DSLE) on cardiovascular and respiratory system in anesthetized rats. Both drugs were injected into the medial preoptic area (MPO) by microinjection. Results: Injecting 5 nmol OMF caused a decrease in blood pressure and heart rate. The injection of 10 nmol OMF caused an increase in blood pressure and heart rate. The injection of 10 nmol DSLET, a δ-opioid receptor agonist, caused a decrease in blood pressure but had no significant effect on heart rate. 20 nmol Naloxone can counteract the above effects of OMF and DSLET. The above doses of OMF, DSLET have no significant effect on rat breathing. CONCLUSIONS: The results suggest that cardiovascular effects induced by OMF and DSLET in the medial preoptic area are opioid receptor-mediated, OMF low-dose, high-dose, and DSLET.
