About the author Octavio Pass (1914-1998), Mexican poet, essayist. Pass’s creation incorporates the literary traditions of Latin American native cultures and Hispanic languages, inherits the metaphysical recourse of European modernism and his belief in the freedom to create a realm of language. He won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1990. Most of the early poems of Parschel were short-form verse, while in the middle period were mainly long-verse poems. Later period was also influenced by oriental poetry, such as Japanese tradition. Many of his poems are love poems, reflecting his theory of poetry, that is, poetry is an exchange, a kind of hand that breaks the lonely existence of man
