张劲松在《浙江社会科学》2011年第2期载文指出:美国实行的三权分立政治体制的优点是分权和制衡,作为一个重大的宪法原则,它在美国实行了200多年,对美国经济和社会发展起过极为重要的作用。英国、法国等西方发达国家虽然并没有采用三权分立政体,其政体的很多方面同样渗透着分权和制衡的相关思想。三权分立政体的基本精神得到了资本主义国家的广泛认同,它对西方国家的政治发展有深刻的影响。
