挂瓶包括壁瓶、轿瓶,它们是较为特殊的古代艺术品。明清时期的壁瓶、轿瓶多由陶瓷、珐琅制成,做工精致,纹饰优美,主要为皇家宫廷和王公贵族所使用,或安置于宫室墙壁,或悬挂于车轿之内,起着美化环境、陶冶性情的作用。本文一方面对沈阳故宫博物院院藏的清宫壁瓶、轿瓶作系统、深入的介绍,另一方面力图发掘这些壁瓶、轿瓶内在的文化潜质,使读者通过这些古代艺术品直接触及古人的思想和智慧,以更多了解那些逝去的人文精神。
