培养学生的创造能力是21世纪教育的重要目标,也是自然教学改革的一个重要方面。近年来,许多教育家和教育工作者愈来愈清醒地认识到,素质教育应该是倡导以创新精神为主体的素质教育。也就是说不仅仅要向学生传授结论性的知识,更要培养学生的能力,发展学生的智力,特别是创造力的培养。陶行知先生曾提出将培养创造力作为教育宗旨。 在小学自然教学大纲中明确地提出培养学生创造能力的要求。创造的特征是新颖、独特、不模仿、不因循守旧。例如,科学家发现新的事实与规律,发明新的技术、设备等。创造能力是时代对每个人较高的要求,没有大批具有创造力的人才,现代社会的发展是不可能的。创造能力必须从小开始培养。
